Dave,

HP-UX performance is counted in different specs or TPM estimnates,
MPE still uses the relative performance factors rel. to 918LX.

If you compare the processors used you will see that the newer systems (like
K-servers, 9x9) use the same PA Risc processor (PA7200).

Now you may make a calculation x TPM = x rel.Factor but I'm not sure whether
this is a comparison between apples and peaches.

E.G. K200 has a TPMestimate of 3030 (1 processor), using PA7200 with 120MHZ, and
969KS/100 has a rel. factor of 4.0 using PA7200 with 120MHZ (the same).
K200/4: 9420
969KS/400: 12.6

and 3030/4=757.5, and 9420/12.6=747.6 so there is a kind of relationship ...
It may help you ....

Best regards, Andreas

Subject: HP-3000 -vs- HP-UX

Hi all,

Is there any way to correlate or compare performance between HP-3000s and
HP-UX machines. For instance, how
would the following HP-UX compare?:

HP9000 L-Class (L1000) 2-way
1 x 440Mhz CPU (upgradeable to 2)
256 MB Memory
9GB Disk
HP-UX11.0

This would be used as an Internet Portal server and is said to be able to
support '33 pages/sec'

Any input would be appreciated

Thanks
