Hi Paul,

Year 2000 enhancements for VPLUS will be available with
MPE/iX 5.5 Express 2, which is currently planned for
May 1997. The new VPLUS version would be B.06.07.

Currently we do not have any plans to make these enhancements
   available for MPE/iX 5.0.

   For your information,

    Year 2000 Enhancements for VPLUS:

        Intrinsic Enhancements
            VGETYYYYMMDD, VPUTYYYYMMDD

        FORMSPEC Enhancements
            New ARB Type: YYYYMD

        Processing Enhancements
New JCW VSETNEXTCENTURY to interpret 2 digit years

Thanks and regards

Subject: VPLUS and Y2K

To all,

About two weeks ago I sent the following message and did not get any resp=
onses:

>There were some messages last year about the availability of a new versi=
on
>of VPLUS/FORMSPEC that through the use of the VSETNEXTCENTURY jcw would
>handle 4 digit or interpret correctly 2 digit years.
>
>Does anyone know if the version is available?
>

I also asked the RC and was told that the above was discussed at IPROF'97
The RC also faxed to me copies of some slides that were presented at IPROF.
rom the slides it seems that the 'Y2K' enhancements will be available
in
MPE/iX 5.5 Express 2 and the RC did not know if the enhancements will be
made available to the 5.0 version of the OS.

Does anyone that attended the SIGUIVPLUS sessions at IPROF have any more
details?

Regards

Paul H. Christidis

With best regards

gopi
