I feel a bit embarrassed - telling my friend Joan McComb that I would have
some pictures up (for the last 6 months) - so I decided the easiest way to
do it - is on the installment plan. First 10 pictures are up - Moscow and
Red Square - over the next days I will take you up the Volga River
Waterway - to St Petersburg. We'll be seeing Moscow for the next few days -
just as I did.

BTW the Volga Waterway is quite an engineering achievement. First started by
Peter The Great it was Stalin (and the deaths of 160,000 political
prisoners) who built the 10 or so locks. You'll see one picture of a church
that was submerged during this project - only the steeple visible above the
water.

Russia to me is a fascinating place. Feel free to ask me any questions you
have.

Each evening I will put up another 5-10 pictures.
