Rebooting doesn't help.  Perhaps it is nested
lower in the configration and I need to do an
update?

Am getting tempted to do an INITIAL instead.

This happens to me too after using FORMATVOL. There may be a cleaner
fix but a system reboot will get you back in control - until the
next FORMATVOL.
