The cheapest way is to use the escape commands and embed them in the code.
This works for all printer, line printers that have the barcode capability
and laserjet printers assigned a ldev=## and assigned a TCP/IP address. You
only need a couple of commands, startbarcode, UCP code id, data,
endbardcode. You can find these commands in the back of any laserjet printer
users manual.
You can't beat the price! Its free!

Hi Jim,
If you are using laser printers you could try a product like Starjet from
Appic (1-800-872-7742). I have used this product mainly for special forms
and in a couple I needed barcodes and it did them with no problem. Also the
price for Starjet is not bad.

Subject: printing bar codes on hp-3000
<< File: ATT00001.html >> I need to add a bar code to a document that
currently prints on the hp-3000.
This is a Cobol application.
What is available in the line of HP-3000 software for printing bar codes
and can easily integrate with existing applications?
