By adding a disk to an already existing volume set you do not need to
perform a reload - only by exchanging disks.
Just install it H/W wise (incl. sysgen setup), bind it via VOLUTIL rsp.
MIRVUTIL into the set, ready! It will be utilized by the OS itself,
starting with nearly 100% free space (some sectores are needed by the OS
itself).

We did this several times.

Best regards, Andreas

Subject: [HP3000-L] Reload from full backup

Our backup (created via RR.PUB.TYM) contains DIRECTORY, @.PUB.SYS,
@.@-@[log in to unmask], where @[log in to unmask]@ gets interpreted as /, so everything
everything
everything is there.
When adding disk to our system, how should I do the reload?
INSTALL from fresh SLT (or is that CSLT?)
VOLUTIL the loners into <long volset name>
RESTORE @[log in to unmask]@ (minus what?)
  some files are on both!
