The MPE command PURGELINK provides exactly this same functionality
(though you would be forgiven for not realising this from the Help for
this command), without you either having to buy MPEX or master the /iX
on MPE/iX..... :-)
We find it most useful for swapping UDCs, and for replacing formsfiles,
XLs, and other ancillary components of HP3000 systems, while they are in
use.
