Give them to HP and have them put them in inventory.

They will never find them again since running SAP for inventory ;)

I've transferred all of our reel tapes to DAT
and now have a LOT of reel tapes with somewhat
sensitive data on them.

What's the best/cheapest/easiest way to make
these tapes unreadable, besides the use of a sledge hammer?
