I have some dumb questions about this topic.

#1. Do the 3rd party vendors get their parts from HP.  If so, who will
manufacture them after HP stops?

#2. To continue MPE without HP's assistance, we (either open source or a
specifiec company) would need to know how many resources are currently
assigned to the task and how large the task is before something could be
started.

HP-CSY could state:  Here is a list of all the parts that comprise MPE (FOS
parts, compilers, Image etc).  And here is a list of personnal assigned to
each part.  X for development and Y for customer support.

Then this list (HP3000-L) could see if its even possible to continue MPE
without HP's assistance.  Facts are wonderful things.
