Never pass-up an opportunity for a flame war :) And always come-in on
the devil's side :) :)

If you really want to shudder, there are some people who run databases
across NFS, and/or beleive that the synchronous writes on the server
will protect them from the evils of the network...

How many companies use free compilers (gcc) and/or free editors
(emacs) for their day to day work? Or free newsreaders (tin). Agreed,
any free software could be worth every penny you paid for it, but
being free does not a priori mean that it is bad.

And to the person who said that sockets programming was difficult - it
could be worse, you could have to do options management (always worry
when they use big phrases) in XTI - it will make you appreciate
setsockopt() - heck, it might even make you appreciate NetIPC :)

these opinions are mine, all mine; HP might not want them anyway... :)
