hhhhmmmmm....smoky taste....I know that taste

I get that same taste(smell) after drinking many-many near frozen Shiner
Bock's and spending 14 hours in front of a 20 foot long smoker and wearing
my once washed(can't remember the year) boning apron...

Subject: [HP3000-L] OT: Tried a new Scotch - Whew, what a difference!

Hi all,

Don't know how many of you out there appreciate a good Scotch
whisky now and again, but I do, and I tried a new Scotch that I'd not
had before, it was "LAPHROAIG". The Scotch was a 10 year old single
malt, and whew, was it different! I've heard of and tasted various
Scotch whiskeys that claimed to be "smoky" in flavor, but I mean to tell
you, this Scotch is the first one that I can say - tastes smoky. You
can smell the peat smoke in the glass as well as taste it on the tongue.
It's a very earthy Scotch to be sure.

It took a bit of getting used to on the first nose and sip, but
after adding a very small amount of pure water (per the distiller's
instructions), I found it really pretty good - will go well with a nice
cigar this summer while sitting around the campfire. The finish is very
long and pleasant, so one sip will linger for awhile.

For those that want to try it, it's roughly $40.00 a bottle, and
the taste of "LAPHROAIG" single malt compared to, say, Glennfiddich
single malt or Glenlivet single malt is like comparing Budweiser lager
or Coors lager beers to Samuel Adams lager. You will ether love it, or
you'll dislike it.

Enjoy!
