Browse to the device via its ip address from your pc with IE6 or similar.
Go to Settings->paper handling->relevant tray that has non std paper - set
tray type to 'preprinted' , 'letterhead' should also work .
This should force an error msg 'load tray x ' when it runs out, and stop it
moving to next available tray.

Have you been able to get PCL5 code to work on this series of printers, cos
I cant?

Subject: [HP3000-L] printer trays

I'm using HP4200/4250s
Sending some information to tray 2 (the standard input tray) and some to
tray
1 (different color).
If tray 1 is empty the job goes to tray 2 and prints on the wrong color. I
don't
see any configurable parameters that force an out-of-paper message if
nothing is in tray 1.
Has anyone dealt with this.
TIA
Mike
