Mark replied to my subject post:

That seems like a pretty cost-effective decision. ;-)

Ah yes:  The devil is almost always in the details;
and totally precise statements are hard to come by...:

Let's see....: My HP World mag conference center-
section "tear-out" sez that "your free expo pass gives
you" access to:

Expo Hall (all three days)
All Keynote Addresses
All HP Strategic Sessions
The Strategic HP Management Roundtable (singular (KS note))

Now...: Consult HPW online sked for Wed at (big wrap):
http://www.hpworld.com/conference/hpworld2002/agendadetail.html#Wednesday.AM

Before getting to the HP e3000 Mgmt RT, first consider an
additional confusion factor; because the "duplicate
listing" for Dave Wilde's 14:00 Wed session has still not
been corrected. It is listed (first) as:

02:00 PM - 03:00 PM (6549) HP Strategic Session: HP e3000
Update--Information to Help You Plan (Dave Wilde, HP)

and then AGAIN, as:

02:00 PM - 03:00 PM (S553) HP e3000 Update--Information to Help You Plan
(Dave Wilde, HP)

Since I doubt there are two Dave Wildes from HP that will
be presenting at HPW, I'm pretty confident this is a bug..
Anyway, in the context of prior HPWs and other HP sessions
at THIS HPW that are ALSO being called "Strategic", I
would certainly say that the first listing for Dave Wilde
should be the "operative" one. Since Expo pass gets you
in to "All" Strategic Sessions, you should be able to go
hear what Dave Wilde has to say... If Interex will just
remove the duplicate second listing from the web site,
then you have hard documentation that they gotta let you
in to hear what Dave has to say.

Now...: WRT to the HP e3000 Management Roundtable:
It's listed in the online sked as:

08:00 AM - 09:00 AM (A496) HP e3000 Management Panel (Moderator: To be
determined)

SIDEBAR: If you click on the link to go to details for
that session, it sez there that Birket will be moderator.

Since it doesn't have the word "strategic" in there, I
would have to tend to agree with Mark that it "doesn't
seem to include"... By copy of this message I ask
Interex to clarify... and note that all the panelists
are HP employees this year... *I* would certainly call
this a strategic session if I was writing the title...
But of course I'm not...

SUMMARY answer: Expo pass probably not good for HP
e3000 Management Panel, but I would be very happy to
have Interex call me wrong.

If there was ever an HPW where MPE users should have
maximum opportunity to express themselves to HP managers,
this is the one...Seems like it would be SO easy to just
change the title on the web to "HP e3000 Strategic
Management Panel"... If Interex will just let me in
there with Front Page (ha!!) I'll be happy to do it for
them... OTOH, I Suppose it's hard for HP to bring
themselves to call the e3000 "Strategic" at this point
(even though it's only a year ago that Ann Livermore and
other senior HP execs made some strong and direct
statements to that effect at HPW-2001 <sigh>)...
