Subject: RE: Windows NT on 3000/9000?
Date: Fri, 28 Jul 95 11:27:00 P

>>Does anyone heard about the possibility to run (in the near future)
Windows NT on HP3000 or HP9000 boxes ?<<

<<I asked my sales rep(first time I'd seen him in about 2 years) about NT
on PA-Risc machines. He said that HP had it running but didn't know what
to do with it. After all, he said, it is not a multi-user system.>>

I think this is a key issue. A lot of people are asking the "can"
question about HP boxes and NT, but there is a distinct shortage of
people asking "why". NT is NT, no matter what it runs on. Is there any
blindingly-obvious advantage to running NT on the 7x00 series PA RISC
chips as compared to x86, MIPS, Alpha, or PowerPC? A lot of people forget
that the cpu is the *last* issue to consider in selecting a computer
solution.
