Kristian,
Whether the AUTORESTART uses START RECOVERY or START NORECOVERY is entirely
up to you. Check the contents of your AUTOBOOT file to see which option you
have configured.
:sysgen
sysgen> sysfile
sysfile> sh
DISC AUTOBOOT = AUTOBOOT.MPEXL.SYS <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
TAPE AUTOBOOT = NONE
SYSTEM CATALOG = CATALOG.PUB.SYS
CM SL = SL.PUB.SYS
NMCONFIG FILE = NMCONFIG.PUB.SYS
NM LIB = NL.PUB.SYS
sysfile>exit
sysgen>exit
:print AUTOBOOT.MPEXL.SYS
START NORECOVERY
If you change the contents of your AUTOBOOT file you should create a new SLT
and then UPDATE the system from it. Although, if you use an editor that does
not purge and save the file new (such as QUAD) then you might be able to
edit the contents without updating the system. The update process records
the physical disk location of the autoboot file when you UPDATE. Since QUAD
posts the changes back to the existing file the location on disk where the
file is stored would not change.
Can anyone confirm that they have modified the file in this manner without
an UPDATE?
Doug.
