escape-t is the default value transmitted by F5, and is the value most
programs interpret as F5-pressed. Could be that your F5 is set to
"Normal" instead of "Transmit Only". "Normal" is both transmit to host
AND echo, so you'd see it on the screen, if display-functions is on, I
think. IIRC.
In Reflection, control-f9 will let you play with fkey labels, transmit
levels, transmit strings.
Or look in terminal docs for esc&j series which does the same things.
