In the case of the Kansas/pancake study no government funds where spent. I
don't know if they received corporate funds. They prominently featured the
fact that they used an IHOP pancake calling it the quintessential American
pancake. The State of Kansas did not sponsor the study even though it is
always trying to lose its flat/boring image. (Recent Bob Dole commercials
regarding if not flatness then at least lack of prominence come to mind.)
Whatever the case no government funds were spent.
Speaking of research projects, what do you all say to our friends down at
DARPA? The folks that helped bring us Internet Casinos have advanced the
research to new heights. I'll put down 2 to 1 that Pointdexter survives this
debacle.
