The recent rash of "generic job postings" has me a bit concerned, and I
noticed some people have mentioned them both on the list and to me in
private. I'm not talking about the specific job postings, done politely
by various organizations; but rather the "generic" and periodic postings
apparently by placement firms. I did some brief research on two such
postings in the past week and found 13 posts since March that carry the
subject line of "\\\\**** <job description> ***////" form and 5 posts
since May referencing David Lubell (there were other posts, I just took
the most recent ones). Neither contributor is on the mailing list and
given they may be posting from the newsgroup, they haven't posted anything
to the list either.

Chris Bartram maintains a free web site listing for job opportunities in
the 3000 area, and posts information about it monthly. This is much more
appropriate for repetitive job solicitations (IMHO).

I'd like to hear other's opinions on your thoughts regarding these postings.
I don't want to start another controversy <grin>, just trying to increase the
signal-to-noise ratio of the group.
