After searching with greater enthusiasm (not)  I stumbled across a table
titled "control panel error messages".

In this table it mentions the balance message.  The explanation states,
"the array is redistributing data amount the disk modules for better
performance."  no action necessary, information only.

This is nice, but what's it doing to this module that displays the amber
light before the balance, and the green light after?
