Yes, Paul, its a scam!

This has happened to me several times.  I politely but firmly
reject the offer to buy, but am happy if they want to list me.

My favourite story along these lines is the scam selling 'family
histories' based on your surname, which is obviously generated
with a fair amount of automated text editing, and their list
of prospects is bought from your telephone company.  How do
I know that?  Well, I have an unlisted third telephone line in
my house, paid for by my employers (Royal Children's Hospital).
And I get a personalised letter .... "Dear Mr. Royal .......
we have just published a comprehensive and professionally researched
history of all those people all over the world who bear the surname
Royal ....." yadda yadda.

Tell'em to get lost.
