It is not about new tools that programmers can't learn.
It is about age.
Companies want to get rid of older programmers who are costing them money
and replace them with younger, and preferably foreign,  workers who will
work for lower wages.
Of course they lose the experience and problem solving skills that newer
programmers do not have.  But that does not matter much anymore.
In the mind of business managers, cheaper = better
