My company is installing it's first network. The HP system is connected to
the network. We've defined and identified our first network printer (an HP
laser IID) in the npconfig.pub.sys file - please see the contents below:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
global (setup_file = llgc8.env.sys # Default to land-leg-comp
message_interval = 60 # Repeat msgs every>=60 secs
pjl_supported = FALSE # Printer is NOT a full PJL dev
jam_recovery = TRUE) # reprints jammed pgs
500 (network_address = 192.68.1.30)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------
Okay... we use environment files extensively for formatting how our reports
print. I read how the network "ignores" the environment files created using
TTUTIL. We have to use escapes codes & printer commands. So, I set up files
using the same names as our environment files with the escape codes (using
EDITOR with Display Functions set on). See a "sample" printer command file
for legal-landscape-compressed print below:

Now output to the HP direct connected printers doesn't work correctly and
output to the network printer only works some of the time. The current plan
is to start switching users to the network starting September 8th, the
printers have to work right before then. Can anyone help me? Please reply
via the list or to my email address. Thank you, in advance for your
assistance.
