If you haven't already sent it, what does ":LINKCONTROL @;STATUS=ALL"
look like?
If you have a managed switch the 3000 is plugged into, can you do a
similar status list of the 3000's port? e.g., Cisco "show interface
x/y" or "show interface x/y counters errors".
Was there a power failure on the 3000 or network-side recently?
Is your link defined in nmconfig as "10/Half" or "Auto"? (or if you
have a 100BT card, "100/Full" or "Auto") ?
Same on switch side -- is it autonegotiating or hard-coded (and does the
hard-coded speed/duplex match the nmconfig above)?
You should ideally configure the 3000 and switch sides with hard-coded
speed/duplex as the older cards don't auto-negotiate very well, if at all.
