I can do the streamx command. When I try it, I get the same response.

- I think this bypasses MPEX and invokes the mpe stream command directly
You would have to create a two-line job to verify...

This will confirm if the problem's caused by something broken at the MPE
layer (e.g. spoolers down ?)
