Actually, you could get tcp/ip and vt support without buying the
complete ns product. When buying the ThinLan Link/xl product you get
a NIC and the tcp/ip stack and vt support. You can delete the h/w
part of the order and just accept the s/w (since the box already
has a NIC).

This was < 2k vs > 20k, back in the old days.
