Hi Paul,
umm.... not sure but I know that 5.5 thru Orbits Backup+ a few
curves... you may want to check your variable settings in the job stream...
?? There was a problem with 5.5 and the file equations in Orbit...

Tho... it does sound like you are running BACKUPPL with an info parm of
"SYNCENABLE"? This is what I used to have to do if the nightly backup sync
point was missed... occasionally we would miss the sync point so I did it
manually the next morning before the users came in.

Off Topic Side Note:
hmmmm.... Almost the 222nd b-day for the US and 223nd for the Army :) now
how did the Army get to be older than the Country? hehehe

Art "Denys will correct me :) hehehe and thus will I learn :) " Bahrs

Subject: Orbit Online Backup Problem

We are running Orbit's Online Backup under MPE/iX 5.5 and have a
problem with the sync point. We have defined the sync point as 12.40pm
(ie lunchtime) and this is usually OK. However, sometimes backup has
not finished storing files at 12.40 and therefore carries on. When the
store has finshed, it should wait until 12.40pm the next day, but it
doesn't. It immediately suspends all processes and the backup
completes. If this is in the middle of the afternoon, our users get a
bit upset.
I've spoken to Orbit on a number of occasions, but they have yet to
come up with any solution.
Has anyone else had this problem?
