The abacus seemed to be the easiest method to teach addition to my son.
Where the teachers would ask for beans, macaroni, buttons, etc this seemed a
much easier visual. Must have worked well he is a head in math, and enjoys
it.
At his present rate of learning, I felt the slide ruler should be coming up
soon (now if only I remember how). Wish I could find something equally
effective for spelling and English!
