Robert Apgood complained about advertising / product news on this group, but
Don Harrington wants the info.
 
I would favour vendors' bug fix and latest patch info being on the
newsgroup, but would be concerned if the newsgroup became an advertising
forum rather than a technical one. (My e-mail provider charges a fee for
every incoming message I receive from the Internet !).
 
Hewlett-Packard have a forum / mail service which includes a "New Products"
digest. That is where I believe their advertising / product info should
reside.
