Three days ago Jim Phillips noted:

> HP/SQL immediately following (gee, Ken, looks like no lunch for
> you that day).

As a "last act" before going off to work on my house for 10 days:

For those who might start planning their "session attendance list"
for HPW=01 *way* in advance, note that SIGs meeting during
lunch WILL GET LUNCH and drinks... It will be provided in the
meeting room.... Off-list comments were made that this worked
pretty well at another conference. While there are some obvious
disadvantages to having to "meet and eat" at the same time, there
is the major counterbalancing up side: NO conflicts. Anyway, for
better or for worse we will give it a try this year...

SIDEBAR note: While the HPW schedule and Interex web site still
say SIGIMAGE and SIGHPSQL, as I expect many of you recall
attendees at SIG3000 last February voted to combine SIGIMAGE
and SIGHPSQL into one HP Database SIG: SIGImage/SQL. I
believe the Interex web pages & etc. will be changed to reflect that
shortly.... In any case, there will be ONE SIGImage/SQL meeting
at HPW; from 11:30 - 14:30 on Thursday 23 August.. Y'all come..

Early thought on extracurricular HPW activities: Since HPW is
at McCormick Place on the South Side of Chicago this year, versus
Navy Pier like it was in 1996, the world-famous Field Museum of
Natural History is just down the street on the waterfront; less than
one mile away. If you have never been "in the Field", very highly
recommended... Gotta go see Sue (and a huge collection of almost
everything etc.).... ;-) Hours are 09:00 to 17:00 every day....
