Jack,

Perhaps you need to verify that the database was indeed stored with the HP
store utility. The following commands should display enough information
from the tape label to help you make that determination.

Regards
Paul Christidis

file t;dev=7;rec=-512,,u,ascii;mr;nobuf
fcopy from=*t;to=;char;hex;norecnum

The above assumes that the tape is mounted on ldev 7 and that someone will
reply to the generated console request.

We're trying to restore a data base from 1995 and getting the following
error.

INVOKING CMSTORE TO READ MPEv MEDIA
        MPE-XL Transport Store-Restore, C.05.08 (C) Hewlett-Packard Co.,
1988.
        WED, SEP 13, 2000, 10:33 AM

RECSIZE OF RECORD HOLDING STORE/RESTORE LABEL WAS NOT 40 WORDS
         (S/R 6188)

Has anyone seen this error or know what may be wrong? Is it a bad tape?

Thanks,
Jack Bailie
