As I understand it, Microsoft Excel Version 5.0 and Lotus 1-2-3's newest
version will include a "Get External Data" option which will allow you to
query Image databases directly inside these apps and drop the data into
the spreadsheet.
 
Alternatively, I suggest EasyReporter from Speedware.  This product is a
Report Writer that will allow users to select any of the formats you
listed, select the items they wish to see, launch the application
automatically upon download.  All they will need to do is open the file!
I like this solution better because of security. As the administrator, I
can control access down the the item level in the database.  There is a
cost.  This product is not cheap.
