As far as I know the limit is not on the numbers of account but a specific limit
of lines, depending on the accounts size (number of groups and users, lines per
private volume sets ONVS, HOMEVS).

Especially in dealing with PrivVols and the need to shuffle accounts around, it's
a reliable tool.
But you must be very careful if you want to duplicate an account by using another
account name but the same structure: the manual change of this job is very
dangerous but workable.
Having MPEX/SEC3000 in place, there are better tools in place to achieve this!

Best regards, Andreas Schmidt, CSC, Germany

To follow-up on a reply I sent privately, you can use the BULDACCT
program to create a jobfile based on a directory entry for all accounts,
a single account, or for a collection of up to 20 accounts (I believe
that's the limit, the systems at my new workplace don't have the
BULDACCT.DOC.TELESUP file on them). You can then modify the jobstream
file to change the account name, for instance, in order to create a new
test account that has all the capability and access settings of your
production account. I've used it a number of times and it works very
well. As I remember, you can also use a fromtape entry point to take
the information from the directory in a store tape (or from a sysdump
tape on a classic) and then modify it.
It is also a good idea to have a run of the job for all accounts on your
normal backup tape for disaster recovery purposes. That way you can
just restore your accounts on someone else's system without fighting the
re-config issues. To run it for all accounts:
:RUN BULDACCT.PUB.TELESUP (or wherever you have it, possibly
PRV.TELESUP)
To run it for a specific account that exists on your system:
:RUN
BULDACCT.PUB.TELESUP;INFO="accountname"[,"accountname"][,"accountname"..
.]
To run it and take the info from a tape (sorry, I'm not absolutely sure
of the entry-point name here):
:RUN BULDACCT.PUB.TELESUP,FROMTAPE[;INFO="accountname"...]
The job file is called BULDJOB1 (for the account build) and BULDJOB2
(for groups and users).

company for any of the above information)
