Assuming you are running a network, what you are proposing is fairly easy
to implement.
You would:
1. Configure and start Samba.
2. Map a network drive on each PC to one of the HP3000's folders.
3. Use that folder and any subfolders when storing and retrieving images.
The first step has a learning curve, but the documentation is good.
