assuming your configs are all ok, you have powercycled the dtc, etc..does a
 2392a term work?

1. make sure the adds terminal port is not dead;
Check for loopback,  use a real looper or  a psuedo loopback (fabricated from a
 paperclip, short pins 2,3 on the terminal), you should be able to see what
 your typing on the screen.  If you do, then move your paperclip to the very
 end of the cable, (the end that would plug into the dtc)  try again...all ok?
 then .

When you hit return, do a showdev from another terminal that is working, do you
 get a 'sys #1' on the adds port with the cable connected to the dtc?  If you
 do, then the data is making it at least one direction,  I have had a dtc port
 die and still pass all self tests.
