Ultimately, HP is a hardware company. If even (just) half of the HPe3000
installations convert to the newer HP machines running *nix - this is a
tremendous sales push and guaranteed large install base.
$-wise - a worthwhile 'program'.

A pure logical business decision - even if it looks like a case of biting
off the hand that feeds it for the last couple of decades.

Just sold all my HWP holdings last week - 30% of my sec portfolio.
(I can take my money and run too !)
