All the educated ones in India whether in Hindi Medium schools or in English
Medium Schools that "GOBAR" stands for animal manure and anyone who has been
near it feels the same smell as AMMONIA and hence the reason why it is also
called as "Gobar Gas".

The point here was to specify that NOT ONLY do most of these old aged books
either don't provide enough information or provide misleading information,
teachers too try to take something off the track sometimes..

Ammonia was NEVER discovered by "Dr. GOBAR", even if there is one "Dr.
GOBAR" identified anywhere around the world.. !!

"gobar" is the Hindi word for animal manure. Gobar gas, really a biogas, is
more commonly about half and half methane and carbon dioxide, although it
may contain ammonia along with other gases.
