Folks,

with the latest Sendmail/iX patch
SMLHD15A  Sendmail A.01.02 for MPE/iX 7.0 (C) Patch
we are being faced with the following problem:

At a random time during the day all Sendmail messages produce the following
error:

FROM (XENBH8)/J35 MGR.SYSLOG/Jun 17 14:17:20 localhost sendmail[1050774]:
h5HCHID01246097: SYSERR(SERVER.SENDMAIL):
<[log in to unmask]>... openmailer(local): pipe (to
mailer): Not enough memory space

Trying to stop the Sendmail batch process, using the kill command, failed -
job seems to hang.
      [ XENBH8: /SYS/SCHMIDA > kill $(head -l1 /etc/mail/sendmail.pid) ]

In addition, pipes in the shell do no longer work:
XENBH8: /SYS/SCHMIDA > ps -ef|grep $(head -l1 /etc/mail/sendmail.pid)
no pipes available: Not enough memory space
Internal error: j_close: no processes

Anybody else facing this problem ?
Any idea on what's wrong ?

We run MPE/iX 7.0 with PP2, and this happens only on one server, sending
out frequently eMails.
