You have my sympathy. What possible good does it do our 5.5 box for our
5.0 box to remain vulnerable? And how does this help someone else who
has a 4.0 box?

Imagine that MS Office 95 could be made to validate macros in some way
to prevent the macro viruses from infecting such files. But MS release
that service pack, because they don't have a retrofit for the older (Win
3.x / 16-bit) Office, and haven't added it to the Office 97 beta yet...
