Hi again.

I have a two locations several miles away connected through routers via
a T1 line. One of the locations is totally Ethernet while the other is
totally Token Ring. I need to setup a printer for an HP3000 at the
Ethernet site in the Token Ring location. The printer can not be a
LaserJet, it must be an impact printer and JetDirect cards are out of
the question. DTCs do not talk Token Ring so I can not move one there
either.

What's left?

        1) Open an ethernet segment at the Token Ring side and move a
DTC.
(too many resources for just one serial port; router port,
wiring,
              DTC, etc)
        2) Buy two intelligent modems, dedicate a phone line and set up
a
             remote serial printer.

Any additional suggestions would be appreciated. For option #2, any
details on modems used and/or setup comments in a successful
installation would help.

TIA

P.S. Before any jokes on eliminating the Token Ring arise, let me say
that I would love to :-), but I can't. ($$$) :-(
