given the public and private responses....i'd say it's almost a hit-or-miss kind of thing.  sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

for what we're doing -- yes, npconfig is already on the system and properly configured.  if an error is occuring, i'm not being told about it <sigh>

this is strange....why would ioconfig fail to completely spool the printer and yet two seconds later you can type in 'startspool' (or spooler...;start) and have it work with no problem?       - d
