At 5/18/99 04:01 AM , Ewart North asked about:
>(Windows 95/98/NT) specific driver for the HP 2564C or HP2563C

I just looked at the HP printer drivers supported on my NT4(workstation)
running SP5. Of those listed, I think "HP ThinkJet" or perhaps "HP DeskJet"
are the closest fit. The 256x printers are PCL2, IIRC, perhaps PCL3. The
ThinkJet and original DeskJet were PCL2 I think. There may be some oddities
but they will probably work somewhat. In this case, your mileage will probably
vary.

BTW, PCL is a somewhat adaptable language in that codes that aren't understood
are defined to be no-ops. The syntax is extensible in such a way that older or
otherwise less flexible printers should just throw out the parts they don't
understand. If those drivers doesn't work well, try the "Generic / text only"
driver listed under manufacturer "Generic".
