First I apologize for breaking my own rule about contributing to 'OT'
threads.

WWII was indeed a 'world' effort. We cannot belittle the sacrifices of
millions of people, regardless of nationality.

In any war there are any number of events that can be considered as
'pivotal' to the outcome and I'm sure there were countless in WWII.

Turkey was NOT 'really neutral'.  See the link below regarding its
neutrality and also for credit denied to the people that proved that the
Axis Powers of Hitler and Mussolini were not invincible.
