hi all!

because john burke is unable to attend this year's hpworld, i'll be
facilitating the sig mpe session on tuesday at (omg) 8am.  for the
lucky souls that will be at the conference, please set your alarm
clocks, grab some coffee and plan on attending our annual meeting.

however, i know most folks are not going to be able to be there <sigh>
so i'd like to do begin some discussions through the list...

1) pre-submit any (should i say reasonable?) questions or issues.  if
you feel there's an important feature that should be added to mpe
(given all our constraints), this would be the time/place to do it.  (i
did mention reasonable, right?)  i'll add them to the agenda.

2) jeff vance will be giving an update on last year's sib and the
progress being made.  ross mcdonald will also be at the meeting to
discuss the *back porting* of the sib enhancements to 6.5 and 7.0.
there's two (i think) schools of thought on this.  some are saying, the
enhancements should be made available.  others are saying, no they
shouldn't.  if you have questions or opinions on this specific issue,
please reply back to the list.  again, i'll collect them and present
them during the meeting.

3) i think a general discussion about patches would be useful as well.
i think everyone is aware that patches are having a hard time making
their way to gr status.  i know it's got a lot of people frustrated,
but i'm not sure there's a good understanding about why.  again, if you
have a comment, please post it back to the list for summarization at
the meeting.

4) any comments about merging sig image and sig mpe?  i know this was
discussed a couple of weeks ago, but i think we need to collectively
decide the best course of action.  is a sig without a leader still a
sig?  i don't know...what do you think?
