I am neither offended nor surprised by Mr. Cheney's choice of words. I
personally have eschewed the use of obscene language but do adhere to the
principle, "F***'em if they can't take a joke." If Mr. Cheney chooses to
speak in this manner it is his right to do so.

I do feel it is right and fitting to ask Mr. Cheney a simple question, “Do
you kiss your valued family with that mouth?” You can’t play “Mr. Morality”
one minute and then act like a “sinner” in the next. You can’t claim the
high ground and wallow in the gutter. This is especially true when, like Mr.
Cheney, you don’t cut anyone else any slack.

Speaking of Mr. Cheney speaking, I have a bigger problem with his words than
whether or not they are one of the seven banned words. My problem is with
his saying things over and over and then denying having ever said them and
then saying them again. Case in point the connection between Saddam Hussein’
s regime and Al Qaideh. He has repeatedly stated, unequivocally that the
link exists. When asked to justify the statement he denies ever having made
it. This is unfortunately just one example of Mr. Cheney’s tendency to treat
the American public as if they are too stupid to understand him or see the
fallacy of his logic. (My years as a classroom teacher lead me to call this
“ The Vice Principal Syndrome.”)

Maybe he is right. Maybe we as a nation are too stupid. Maybe like little
kittens we are more fascinated by the ball of tin foil than we are by things
of substance. While America was in such an uproar over Janet Jackson’s
breast an even younger young woman was making human pyramids with naked
Iraqis. Mr. Cheney would have you believe they deserve this treatment
because they are bad. If they weren’t bad they wouldn’t be in jail; where
there’s smoke there’s is fire. With Mr. Cheney where there’s smoke there’s
mirrors.

As Little Newt Hoenikker put it, “No damn cat and no damn cradle.”

Pray For Peace,
Yosef
