I fear the day will come when everyone on the planet will stay at home in
bed with the covers pulled over their heads for fear they will offend some
over-sensitive idiot if they dare to emerge. The first to succumb to this
paralysis will be the people who set policy for government agencies.

Subject: OT: Post Office Clocks

Gentle HP 3000 List Members,

A few weeks ago, I recounted the story of the man pointing out the countdown
clock at the post office as being an hour off. I explained about daylight
saving time. He left in a huff. Well I was at the post office today and
noticed the countdown clock was missing. So I asked the teller about it.
She
explained to me that all the clocks had been removed in all the post
offices.
It seems people were complaining about the doomsday aspect of the
countdown!
They removed the countdown clocks AND the regular clocks. Go figure.

Kind regards,

Denys. . .
