Jeff

My A500-200 went out last year with weird disc problems.

Turned out the need a new motherboard since the disc controller is on
board.

Subject: 3000/A500/200 with mirroring (at least) issue...

We have an unhappy 3000/A500/200-20 this morning. One of the mirrors
has split/disabled, but the problem seems to go deeper:

> (MANAGER.SYS)# dstat all
> LDEV-TYPE STATUS VOLUME VOLUME SET - GEN

> 2-ST336753LC MEMBER MEMBER2
MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET-0

> 42- BUSY MASTER-MD MEMBER1 DEVELOPMENT-0
> 43- BUSY MEMBER-MD MEMBER2 DEVELOPMENT-0

The 3x drives are master members of mirror pairs and the 4x drives
should be the mirrors themselves.

44 has clearly split from the mirror, but what's with the "BUSY" state
of the other volumes?

Is this a channel problem? (3x drives are on a separate channel from
the 4x drives).

Not sure how to proceed from here (never seen a "BUSY" state from
DSTAT).

Ideas? Clues? Condolences? :-)

Jeff
