There used to be a program in the CSL which I used for this
purpose on MPE/V systems. Haven't looked at it for years,
and it was hidden behind a UDC called 'shred' on our system,
which is no longer current and I don't remember the name of
the program. Still ... shouldn't be too hard to find.
Anyway, someone out there is sure to remember what I'm talking
about.

It flooded the filespace with binary zeroes before doing
the usual purge stuff. Took awhile for big files, but useful
when you really didn't want the stuff to be seen by anyone
evermore.
