I believe even before, those used to be passed through
if they were sent to the listserv by the email client.
Regardless of the past, we're now passing through whatever
HP3000-L sends out. I do have the ability though to
manipulate/scan/(mangle :) anything passing through the
gateway, as I read in the entire body of the message, then
simply output that when sending/posting the new message.
So, we could apply filters, headers, footers, etc. to the
messages, but I think we're starting down a slipperly slope
by trying to impose an electronic "editor" to our postings.
Besides, only one side of the fence would be editted, the
original would remain as it was posted.
