I have an external HP SureStore DAT24, which I often have set to SCSI
address 0 on a 918 without any problems at all. Even the same HP address of
56/52.0.0. Of course there should not be another SCSI device at the same
SCSI address on the same SCSI chain.
I have run into situations where LLIO errors will result upon system bootup
if there is tape loading activity occurring during the bootup process.
I have never seen the situation you describe with the system powering off.
I do know that SCSI address 7 will not work (I've tried it) but 0 works
fine for me and has for a long time.
