A personal favorite: a Calvin and Hobbs strip has Calvin complaining
about having to take a bath, and how he wastes four days a year in the
tub. What could be a bigger waste of time? Hobbs asks him how long it
took him to add all that up. Implications for project management, here.
Although I bet some part of those factoids were by-products of other
legitimate efforts.

I did see a marker at a lookout that listed the department secretary's
address in Washington D.C. to send a postcard to in order to get the
elevation of the marker... I guess they wanted to save a trip, and just
brought the marker with the survey team. Wish they had given an email
address or web site instead.
